Plants | Taipei Restaurant
Liesl and I have obviously not yet recovered from our month-long 'eating-everything-we-laid-our-eyes-on' vacations abroad this past summer. We found ourselves at yet another healthy cafe this weekend, having craved their wholesome dishes for weeks. Plants, a vegan and gluten-free cafe located in Taipei's Daan District, offers delicious, plant-based whole foods, that are both tasty and nutritious, exactly what the two of us were looking for.
This charming little cafe has a relaxed and quiet atmosphere, and being not overly busy at 10AM on a Saturday morning, we could easily find a spot to sit back and relax while catching up and feasting away on our healthy dishes. Our server was very helpful and friendly, and took her time in explaining to us the different items on their menu, and also telling us about the specials of that day.
The interior is simple and modern, with wooden furniture and patterned floors (also tons of natural light!), adding well to their clean approach to eating. We always love sitting by the large window in the front part of the restaurant by the entrance, enjoying our meals from a beautiful, honeycomb-patterned table (that is totally gram-worthy too, by the way!)
Their menu consists of carefully curated plant-based super food, that is freshly made upon ordering and served to you with a smile. Below you can have a look at what they have to offer.

Liesl opted for their delicious Quinoa Salad, which is a tasty mix of greens, dragon fruit, cucumbers and sprouts, topped off with a pineapple vinaigrette. I decided to go with the Flamingo Bowl (one of their special acai bowls that day) which totally satisfied my taste buds with its delicious mix of chia pudding, banana and red pitaya, topped with raw-chocolate sauce, raspberries and cacao goji rawnola. (Trust me when I say, it is DE-licious!) We just couldn't resist their smoothies, so Liesl had the Bunny Loves Your Eyes (how cute is that name?!) made from turmeric, ginger, rosemary, pineapple, banana, carrot, lemon and their house made cashew milk, and I got the Vitality Green, made form chia seeds, seasonal greens, pineapple, lemon and mint.
If you’ve been on the lookout for a vegan or gluten-free restaurant, or you’re just in the need of a little somethin’ healthy like we were, we would definitely recommend Plants, for their delicious plant-based dishes, their wonderful service and relaxing atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet breakfast and catch up over a plate of greens, all while getting in your daily dose of nutrients (and they really do make one of the best acai bowls in town!)
